Descriptif

Superb antique from Louis XIV epoch. Extraordinary work of the scupture so fine.

The head and feathers of the eagle look majestic and realistic.

The eagle is an universal symbol of power and elevation : symbol of Jupiter (inspired by Zeus) and symbol of military power under Roman Empire, and then emblem of Bonaparte Empire and today symbol of USA. But incarnating power of Jesus too, besides its uses as lectern.

A magnificent antique from Louis XIV epoch.
